Rooted in Martin Heidegger’s concept of Geworfenheit—the idea that humans are "thrown" into existence without control over their circumstances—this piece transforms walking into an act of struggle.
These restrictive boots force the wearer to engage in each movement with intense focus, making every step uncertain and laborious. Balance, coordination, and trust in the ground beneath become precarious, disrupting the assumption that movement is an effortless, innate function. The piece becomes a metaphor for existential instability, where control over one's path is constantly challenged.
The work exists both as a tangible sculpture and a recorded performance, capturing the physical strain of movement. Displayed together, the boots and video reinforce the tension between restriction and perseverance, between the desire for freedom and the limitations imposed on the body.
