This wearable sculpture challenges bodily autonomy through an external intervention. Unlike conventional masks, which are donned voluntarily, this piece requires an external force to move it towards the wearer’s face. The act of adjusting the mask is no longer a personal decision but an imposed action, unsettling the wearer’s control over their own body.
Metaphorically, the work explores the blurred line between self-imposed and externally enforced restrictions. It reflects on how limitations—whether psychological, societal, or physical—can originate from within or be shaped by external structures, questioning the extent to which agency is truly self-determined.
