Building on the themes explored in Apparatus 1, this piece intensifies the examination of bodily autonomy by introducing a wearable sculpture that fully disables the hand. Unlike the previous work, which mediated movement through a mechanical process, Apparatus 2 removes functionality entirely, forcing the wearer into a state of passivity.

By stripping the hand of its purpose, the piece highlights the vulnerability of the human body when subjected to external constraints. It transforms a tool of interaction and expression into an immobilised object, compelling the wearer—and the viewer—to confront the fragility of physical agency and the impact of external limitations on the body’s capabilities.
